Golf Course Parking Lot Paving Will Impact Traffic on 40th Avenue

Traffic on a section of 40th Avenue will be disrupted on Wednesday, April 8th and Thursday, April 9th while the expanded parking lot at Fisher Park Golf Course is paved.

The northbound lane of 40th Avenue between Arlington Street and Webster Avenue will be closed on both April 8th and April 9th from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm while the parking lot is paved. Traffic will be restricted in the project area to one lane northbound and one lane southbound during the same time period both days.

The Fisher Park Golf Course parking lot has been nearly doubled in size. The lot now has 23 spaces compared to the 10 spaces it previously had. The City of Yakima, which owns the golf course, decided to expand the lot because parking spaces located across 40th Avenue have been removed to make way for new Eisenhower High School sports fields.

During the project, traffic delays in the area are likely to occur. Drivers should use alternate routes if possible until the project is completed.

Access to homes and businesses in the project area will be impacted, but will be maintained when possible. Emergency vehicles will be allowed through the project area if necessary.

As always, the schedule for this type of a project is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.
