Art by local residents, live music, dancing and refreshments are all planned during the City of Yakima’s Harman Center Art Walk & Open House from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm on Wednesday, May 30th.
“We want to create a ‘get-to-know-you’ welcoming atmosphere,” Recreation Program Supervisor Leslie Richards said of the free event. “It will give folks a chance to get to know what our groups are about.”
The event will showcase art by Harman Center classes that include paintings, wood carving and leatherworking.
“We’ll have displays set up throughout the building,” Richards said. “Some of our groups will have a table for card games and we’ll have a raffle.”
The Art Walk & Open House will also feature a free dance with music provided by Marv Pfeif, who plays the violin and keyboard.
The Harman Center is located at 101 North 65th Avenue. Information on the senior center’s activities is also available by calling 575-6166 or visiting https://yakimaparks.com/senior-center/
