Pictures with Santa, a hot cocoa bar and holiday crafts will be offered during the City of Yakima Harman Center’s first-ever “Santa’s Workshop and Lego Village Competition” event.
The free event is from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday, Dec. 8th. Contestants must pre-register for the Lego Village Competition contest by Thursday, December 6th They can pre-register at the Harman Center’s front desk at 101 N. 65th Avenue or by calling 575-6166.
“Our hope is for a multi-generational event, with parents, grandparents, children having fun together with Legos,” said Recreation Program Supervisor Leslie Richards.
Prizes in the form of gift cards donated by local businesses will be awarded to assembled Lego entries submitted in two different categories: Originally Built and Fan Favorite.
There will be first, second and third-place prizes awarded in the Originally Built category, which requires participants to create an entry that is not based on a kit or internet instructions. The Fan Favorite, voted on by the public, will award one Grand Prize winner.
