Leather jackets and poodle skirts will be in fashion during the City of Yakima Harman Center’s first Grandparents Day Sock Hop on Saturday, September 15th, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
“We wanted to do something to celebrate Grandparents Day,” said Recreation Program Supervisor Leslie Richards. “We’re hoping for a family-friendly event to bring the kids and grandkids and have a good time.”
National Grandparents Day is Sunday, September 9th.
The September 15th sock hop will include light refreshments, a photo booth and doo wop music provided by DJ David Gotzh.
The event is free and no pre-registration is required. The Harman Center at Gailleon Park is located at 101 North 65th Avenue.
