Harman Center Publishes Spring Newsletter

Classic movie nights, an art walk/open house and a Wellness & Safety Expo are just some of the events included in the Spring 2019 Newsletter published by the City of Yakima’s Harman Center at Gailleon Park.

The newsletter covers activities at the center scheduled through the end of June. It includes event announcements, as well as a weekly schedule calendar of ongoing favorites such as fitness classes and “Reliving Rock N’ Roll.”

Highlights include:

  • The Art Walk & Open House will be 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Wednesday May 29th. The event will also be an opportunity to celebrate the Harman Center’s 15th anniversary. In addition, the Art Walk & Open House will include cake and punch served at 12:00 pm and a free dance from 1:30 to 3:45 pm with live music by Marv Pfeif and Al Maletta.
  • Classic movie nights return starting Thursday, April 11th, with 20 Leagues Under the Sea. Other classic movie nights are April 25th (Meet Me in St. Louis starring Judy Garland), May 9th (The Pink Panther Strikes Again starring Peter Sellers, May 23rd (The Quiet Man starring John Wayne and June 6th (Viva Las Vegas starring Elvis Presley and Ann Margaret). Showtime for each of the free films is 6 pm at the Harman Center.
  • The Wellness & Safety Expo is 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm on Thursday, April 25th. Topics will include emotional health, fall prevention/hydration, fraud prevention and preventing senior scams.
