Irrigation Main Line Project to Impact Traffic in the Mead Avenue and 3rd Avenue Area

A project involving the repair of Naches-Cowiche Canal Association irrigation main lines will impact traffic overnight in the area of 3rd Avenue and Mead Avenue on Monday, May 6th and Tuesday, May 7th.

Work on the project will take place both days from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am.  On May 6th, the section of Mead Avenue between 3rd Avenue and 2nd Avenue will be closed while work is underway.  On May 7th, the section of 3rd Avenue between Mead Avenue and Logan Avenue will be closed to allow the project to proceed.

While the closures are in place, detour routes will be available.

Access to properties in the project area will be maintained as best as possible.

Drivers are encouraged to avoid the project area, if possible.

Drivers are reminded the speed limit through all traffic-related work zones within the City of Yakima is 20 miles-per-hour.

As always, the schedule for this type of a project is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure and emergencies.

Contact Street Inspector Dan Riddle at 509-576-6464 for more information about the project.
