Traffic through the intersection of N. 5^th Avenue and W. D Street will be limited to two lanes starting Monday, March 10^th, for planned pedestrian safety improvements.

Lane closures will be in effect 7:00 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Thursday, starting March 10^th. It is estimated the project will be complete by the end of April.

• Pedestrian safety improvements at the intersection will include new street lights, repaving the intersection with new crosswalk striping, curb extensions, rapid flashing beacons and new storm drainage.

Drivers are encouraged to slow down in work zones, look out for workers and follow the posted speed limit.

Access to homes and businesses in the project area will be maintained as best as possible and emergency vehicles will be allowed through the project area if necessary.

As always, the schedule for this type of project is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.
