Lincoln Avenue Lane Closures Continue

Lane closures for a 2-block stretch of Lincoln Avenue continue this week for an ongoing stormwater project.

Lincoln Avenue is one lane each direction between 34th Avenue and 36th Avenue from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm daily from today, Monday, through Thursday, November 2nd.

In addition, 35th Avenue will continue to be closed to all traffic on the north side of Lincoln Avenue. This closure extends into the overnight hours through Thursday. However, access is being maintained for properties in the area as well as emergency vehicles.

Lane closures on Lincoln Avenue began last Monday, October 23rd, and were originally scheduled to end on Friday, October 27th.

The stormwater project started October 16th and is expected to last until mid-November.

The schedule for this type of project is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.

Drivers are reminded the speed limit through all traffic-related work zones within the City of Yakima is 20 miles-per-hour.

During the project, traffic delays in the area are likely to occur. Drivers should use alternate routes until project completion.
