Man Injured in Late Friday Evening Shooting

At about 11:30 pm on Friday, December 27th, Yakima police responded to a report of shots fired in the 1200 block of Garfield Avenue.  After arriving on the scene, officers found 32-year-old Alberto Tamoyo walking in the area and suffering from a gunshot wound.

Officers immediately began providing first aid to Tamyo.  He was ultimately transported to a local hospital for treatment.  His wound did not appear to be life threatening.  Tamoyo‘s current medical condition is unknown to police.

Tamoyo and other witnesses provided police with a description of a vehicle (tan or light color SUV) that was seen in the area at about the time the shooting occurred.  However, no vehicle matching the description provided was located by police.

No arrests have been made at this time pending further investigation by police.
