Manhole Project to Impact Traffic on Summitview and 26th Avenue

A project to replace a manhole ring and cover will impact traffic in the area near the intersection of Summitview Avenue and 26th Avenue for most of the morning on Wednesday, April 12th.

City of Yakima Wastewater Division crews will be working on the project between 7:00 am and 12:00 pm on April 12th.  The manhole that will have its ring and cover replaced is located in Summitview Avenue and 26th Avenue intersection.  While the project is underway, the outside, eastbound lane of Summitview between 25th Avenue and 26th Avenue will be closed.  Drivers will still be able to use the inside, eastbound lane along that section of Summitview.  Also, 26th Avenue between Summitview Avenue and Barge Street will only be open to local traffic until the project is completed.

Drivers are reminded that the speed limit through all traffic-related works zones within the City of Yakima is 20 miles-per-hour.

During the project, traffic delays in the area are likely to occur.  Drivers should use alternate routes if possible until the project is completed.

Access to homes and businesses in the area will be maintained and traffic will be allowed through the project area when possible.

As always, the schedule for this type of a project is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.
