Release Date: February 8th, 2013

Traffic through the intersection of 5th Avenue and “I” Street will be interrupted from Wednesday, February 13th through Friday, February 15th while a project is underway to relocate a 6-inch natural gas line.

Cascade Natural Gas crews will be working from 6:30 am to 5:30 pm each of the three days in and around the intersection to move the line.  Flaggers will be in place to manage lane restrictions that will vary throughout the day.  One lane in each direction will remain open throughout the project.

During the project, traffic delays in the area are likely to occur.  Drivers should use alternate routes if possible until the project is completed.  Pedestrians are also encouraged to avoid the area where the project will be taking place because of the hazards posed by the use of heavy equipment.

Access to businesses in the area will be maintained and emergency vehicles will be allowed through the project area if necessary.

As always, the schedule for this type of project is subject to change daily, dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.

For additional information regarding this project, contact Construction Supervisor Bruce Floyd at 575-6138.
