Pothole Filling and Crack Repair Work Continues

Traffic on a portion of West Chestnut Avenue will be impacted next week as work continues on filling potholes and repairing roadway cracks.

From Monday, April 7th through Thursday, April 10th, Chestnut between 19th Avenue and 32nd Avenue will be closed on a block-by-block basis from 6:00 am to 4:00 pm each day while City of Yakima Streets Division crews work on the project.  Flaggers will be in place to direct traffic through the project area.

While the work on Chestnut is underway, traffic delays in the areas are likely to occur.  Drivers should use alternate routes if possible until the projects are completed.

Access to homes and businesses in the areas will be maintained and traffic will be allowed through the project areas when possible.

As always, the schedule for these types of a projects is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.

For additional information about this project, contact Streets and Traffic Operations Manager Joe Rosenlund at 576-6430.
