Effective today, Monday, February 3rd, Pre-Check passenger benefits are expanding at Yakima Air Terminal-McAllister Field (YKM).
Through the use of “Blended Lanes,” passengers in the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Pre-Check program receive that benefit when using the single passenger screening lane at YKM if passenger volume does not require a dedicated Pre-Check lane.
“With the introduction of Blended Lanes at YKM, our TSA Pre Check travelers are now able to enjoy those benefits from the very beginning of their journey,” YKM Airport Director Robert Peterson said. “It all boils down to creating a better customer experience.”
TSA Pre Check enrollment takes about five minutes online at https://www.tsa.gov/precheck then another 10 to 15 minutes for the scheduled in-person appointment.
Those enrolled in the TSA Pre Check program enjoy benefits such as:
- Compliant 3-1-1 liquids/gels/aerosols and laptops remain in the carry-on bag
- Passengers do not have to remove shoes, belts, and light outer jackets.
- Dedicated TSA Pre Check queues, when dictated by passenger volume.
On average, new TSA Pre Check enrollees receive their “Known Traveler Number” in two weeks.
