Project to Close 20th Avenue Extended Through March 13th

A project that requires closing 20th Avenue from Maclaren Avenue to Saint Helens Street is extended through next Wednesday, March 13th.

  • The closure will be in effect all day Saturday and Sunday, March 9th and 10th.
  • Next Monday through Wednesday, March 11-13, the section of 20th Avenue will be closed during project work hours of 3 pm to 6 pm each weekday.

Work involves repairing a pipe across the roadway. The project was initially extended through today, Friday, but is experiencing delays requiring the continued closure.

Access to homes and businesses in the project area will be maintained as best as possible.

Drivers are reminded the speed limit through all traffic-related work zones within the City of Yakima is 20 miles-per-hour.

As always, the schedule for this type of a project is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.
