Project to Impact Parking, Sidewalks at Former Bank of America Building

On-street parking and sidewalks at the intersection of Staff Sgt. Pendleton Way and 2nd Street will be temporarily impacted next week due to a project at the former Bank of America building.

Parking spaces and sidewalks around the former bank will be cordoned off and closed so crews can remove tree stumps. The closure will be in effect during project work hours of 7:00 am to 3:00 pm each day next Monday through Friday, March 4-8. It is possible the project could extend a second week, March 11-15.

Drivers are reminded the speed limit through all traffic-related work zones within the City of Yakima is 20 miles-per-hour.

As always, the schedule for this type of a project is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.

Contact Street Maintenance Supervisor Jay Kendall at 509-576-6443 for more about the project.
