The City of Yakima invites the community to attend a virtual open house for its Shoreline Master Program (SMP) Periodic Update.
The meeting will be conducted via Zoom on Thursday, November 12th, from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm. To participate, register as an attendee with your name and e-mail address at https://cityofyakima.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_jSYuth1SQZyNw3a8O_Jizw
Registered attendees will receive e-mailed instructions for joining the meeting online with your device or by calling in. Attendees will not be shown on video and will be muted upon entry. If you’d like to speak, please use the “raise your hand” button on your screen or press *9 on your phone if you called in.
The City of Yakima is working through a Periodic Review of the Shoreline Master Program. The Shoreline Management Act requires local governments to periodically review their SMP and, if necessary, revise their master programs to:
- Assure the new master program complies with applicable law and guidelines in effect at the time of review; and
- Assure consistency of the master program with the local government’s comprehensive plan and development regulations adopted under chapter 36.70A RCW, and other local requirements.
