Public Invited to Washington Fruit Community Center Open House

The community is invited to learn more about programs at Washington Fruit Community Center (WFCC) and share ideas during an open house on Wednesday, January 25th, from 6:00 pm to 7:15 pm.

“The open house is an opportunity for the public to see what is available at WFCC and for community members to share what they would like to see happen or improved upon at WFCC,” said Parks and Recreation Manager Ken Wilkinson.

In addition to sharing input about programs at WFCC, located at 602 N. 4th Street, the open house will offer refreshments, games and prizes for those attending.

Yakima Parks and Recreation is responsible for programs and activities at the Washington Fruit Community Center at Miller Park. That was the result of an operational change the Yakima City Council formally approved for WFCC in 2021.

WFCC activities provided by Parks and Recreation staff range from day camps for children to family movie nights to senior Zumba classes and Meals on Wheels.
