Repaving of One Lane Will Interrupt Tieton Drive Traffic

Traffic on Tieton Drive between 59th Avenue and 72nd Avenue will be intermittently interrupted each day from Wednesday, May 28th through Friday, May 30th and again from Monday, June 2nd through Wednesday, June 4th while the westbound, outside lane of that section of Tieton is repaved.

The project will restore portions of the westbound, outside lane of Tieton that were disturbed last year during the replacement of a water line. The repaving project will improve the drivability and safety of the lane.

From 7:00 am to 3:30 pm each day of the project, the two westbound lanes of Tieton from 59th to 72nd will be closed and traffic will be rerouted to the two eastbound lanes. One of the eastbound lanes will be used for eastbound traffic while the other lane will accommodate westbound traffic.

Additionally, traffic signals at the intersection of 72nd and Tieton will be shut off beginning at 10:30 am on both Thursday, May 29th and Friday, May 30th and will remain inoperable for several hours while work on the repaving project is ongoing.

Flaggers will be on site to help direct traffic while the repaving project is ongoing.

During the project, traffic delays in the area are likely to occur. Drivers should use alternate routes if possible until the project is completed.

Access to homes and businesses in the area will be maintained while the project is underway.

As always, the schedule for this type of project is subject to change daily, dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.
