Road Improvement Project on Fruitvale Boulevard to Impact Traffic

A road improvement project will impact traffic along a six-block section of Fruitvale Boulevard during daytime hours from Monday, July 11th through Thursday, July 21st.

The “grind and overlay” project will take place on Fruitvale between 28th Avenue and 34th Avenue and will involve removing old and deteriorated asphalt and replacing it with new asphalt. The inside lanes in both directions along that portion of Fruitvale will be repaved.

Work on the project will take place between 6:00 am and 4:00 pm each weekday from July 11th through July 21st. While the project is underway, traffic along the section of Fruitvale between 28th Avenue and 34th Avenue will be reduced to one lane in each direction.

During the project, traffic delays in the area are likely to occur.  Drivers should use alternate routes until the project is completed.

Access to homes and businesses in the area will be maintained as best as possible.

As always, the schedule for this type of a project is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.

For additional information about this project, contact Streets and Traffic Operations Manager Joe Rosenlund at 576-6430.
