Road Project at Englewood and 53rd Intersection Extended One Day

A road improvement project at the intersection of Englewood Avenue and 53rd Avenue has been extended one day beyond its originally expected completion on Tuesday, November 15th.

The project is taking place within the intersection and involves replacing deteriorated asphalt.

Originally expected to be completed on November 15th, work on the project will continue on Wednesday, November 16th.  Work will take place between 7:00 am and 3:30 pm on November 16th. While the project is underway, periodic closures of the Englewood and 53rd intersection will occur.  Detour routes around the project area will be available and will be marked with appropriate signage.  Flaggers will be on site to help drivers navigate around the project area.

Drivers are reminded that the speed limit through all traffic-related works zones within the City of Yakima is 20 miles-per-hour.

During the project, traffic delays in the area are likely to occur.  Drivers should use alternate routes until the project is completed.

Access to homes in the area will be maintained as best as possible.

As always, the schedule for this type of a project is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.

For additional information about this project, contact Streets and Traffic Operations Manager Joe Rosenlund at 576-6430.
