Road Repair Project to Impact Traffic on Chestnut and 2nd Street

A road repair project will impact traffic on a section of Chestnut Avenue and a section of 2nd Street for most of each day from Monday, September 11th through Friday, September 22nd.

As a result of the project, the section of Chestnut between 1st Street and 2nd Street and the section of 2nd Street between Yakima Avenue and Chestnut Avenue will be closed from September 11th through September 22nd.  Detour routes around the project area will be available and will be marked with appropriate signage.

Drivers are reminded that the speed limit through all traffic-related works zones within the City of Yakima is 20 miles-per-hour.

During the project, traffic delays in the area are likely to occur.  Drivers should use alternate routes until the project is completed.

Access to businesses in the project area will be maintained as best as possible.  The Millennium Plaza parking lot will be accessible from 3rd Street.

As always, the schedule for this type of a project is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.
