Road Repair Will Impact Traffic on Section of 8th Street

Beginning on July 8th, the section of 8th Street between Chestnut Avenue and Yakima Avenue, as well as the intersection of 8th   Street and Walnut Avenue, will be closed to through traffic during daytime hours Monday through Thursday through July 18th.

Access to those portions of 8th   Street will be limited Monday through Thursday from July 8th through July 18th between 6:00 am and 4:00 pm while repairs are made to the road surface.  During evening hours and Friday through Sunday, 8th Street between Chestnut Avenue and Yakima Avenue, as well as the 8th   Street and Walnut Avenue intersection, will be open to traffic, but the road surface may be rough in certain areas.

There may be times when the areas of 8th Street affected by the project could be closed completely to all traffic, although such closures are likely to last no more than 15 minutes.

During the project, traffic delays in the area of 8th Street between Chestnut Avenue and Yakima Avenue, as well as at the 8th   Street and Walnut Avenue intersection, will occur.  Drivers should use alternate routes if possible until the project is completed.

Access to homes and businesses in the project area will be maintained as best as possible and emergency vehicles will be allowed through the project area if necessary.

As always, the schedule for this type of project is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.
