Students at local schools will benefit from a summer-long school supply drive that begins Monday, July 1st at the City of Yakima’s Harman Center, 101 N. 65th Avenue.
“The supplies will go to multiple schools in the Yakima City School District,” said Recreation Program Supervisor Leslie Richards. “Last year with the amount of donations we were able to donate supplies to five different schools in the city.”
The public is invited to drop off items at the Harman Center from Monday, July 1st through the end of September. Richards said requested items include erasers, pencils, rulers, color pencils, crayons, markers, paper, scissors, binders, glue, notebooks, pencil sharpeners, backpacks and folders.
Call the Harman Center at 575-6166 for more information about the school supply drive.
