School Supply Drive Begins July 2nd

Students at a local elementary school will benefit from a summer-long school supply drive that begins Monday, July 2nd at the City of Yakima’s Harman Center, 101 N. 65th Avenue.

“Items will be donated to Summitview Elementary School right behind us,” said Recreation Program Supervisor Leslie Richards. “We did this last year and the response was really great.”

The public is invited to drop off items at the Harman Center from Monday, July 2nd through the end of September. Richards said requested items include crayons, pencils, pens, glue, scissors, tissues, hand sanitizer, notebooks, and folders.

The items will be donated to Summitview Elementary School, and officials there will provide them to students as needed.

Call the Harman Center at 575-6166 for more information about the school supply drive.
