Sections of 72nd and Coolidge to Close for Road Repairs

Portions of 72nd Avenue and Coolidge Road will be closed for most of the day on Monday, February 1st while repairs are made the roadway shoulder.

The winter freezing and thawing cycle has damaged portions of the shoulder of both 72nd Avenue and Coolidge Road along the fog line. While City of Yakima Streets Division crews repair the damage, detours will be in place on Monday, February 1st from 8:00 am to 2:30 pm. Flaggers will direct southbound traffic on 72nd Avenue to a detour using Crown Crest Avenue and eastbound traffic on Coolidge Road to a detour using 76th Avenue.

During the project, traffic delays in the area are likely to occur. Drivers should use alternate routes if possible until the project is completed.

Access to homes and businesses in the area will be maintained and traffic will be allowed through the project area when possible.

As always, the schedule for this type of a project is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.

For additional information about this project, contact Streets and Traffic Operations Manager Joe Rosenlund at 576-6430.
