Sewer Line Project on S. 16th Ave Extended

A project to repair an aging sewer line has been extended one more day and will impact traffic on a section of South 16th Avenue next Monday, March 7th.

Traffic on South 16th Avenue will be limited to one lane in each direction between West Nob Hill Boulevard and West Prasch Avenue on Monday. Traffic restrictions will be in place during project work hours of 7:00 am to 5:00 pm

Work on the project began this week on Tuesday, March 1st, and continued through Thursday, March 3rd. The project has been extended one more day to complete the repairs, requiring traffic restrictions on Monday.

The general contractor for the project is Hurst Construction, LLC, which is based in Wenatchee.

Drivers are reminded that the speed limit through all traffic-related work zones within the City of Yakima is 20 miles-per-hour.

During the project, traffic delays in the area are likely to occur. Drivers should use alternate routes until project completion.

Access to homes and businesses in the project area will be maintained as best as possible.

The schedule for this type of project is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.
