An emergency sewer project will require the closure of the intersection at 2nd Street and Chestnut Avenue on Monday, August 12th.
During the project, traffic will be limited to local access only.
Work will begin at 6:00 am Monday and contractor Ken Leingang Excavation anticipates completing the project that day. Work on Monday will also include a pavement patch at the site after the emergency sewer project is completed.
Drivers should use alternate routes if possible until the work is completed.
Drivers are reminded that the speed limit through all traffic-related work zones within the City of Yakima is 20 miles-per-hour.
As always, the schedule for this type of project is subject to change dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.
