Sidewalk Repair Project to Impact Traffic on Summitview Avenue

A sidewalk repair project will impact traffic on a section of Summitview Avenue for most of each day on Wednesday, August 9th and Thursday, August 10th.

As a result of the project, the outside, eastbound lane of Summitview will be closed to traffic from 6:00 am to 3:30 pm on both August 9th and August 10th in the area of 74th Avenue and Summitview.  Crews will be removing damaged sidewalk panels in that area on August 9th and pouring new sidewalk panels on August 10th.

Drivers are reminded that the speed limit through all traffic-related works zones within the City of Yakima is 20 miles-per-hour.

During the project, traffic delays in the area are likely to occur.  Drivers should use alternate routes until the project is completed.

Access to homes in the project area will be maintained as best as possible.

As always, the schedule for this type of a project is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.

For additional information about this project, contact Streets and Traffic Operations Manager Joe Rosenlund at 576-6430.
