Sidewalk Repair to Impact Traffic on 72nd Avenue

Traffic will be impacted on a section of 72nd Avenue next Monday and Tuesday, September 14th and 15th, for a sidewalk repair project.

The southbound right lane of 72nd Avenue will be closed south of Nob Hill Boulevard for about 300 feet. The sidewalk in that area will also be closed.

The project work hours are 6:00 am to 4:00 pm next Monday and Tuesday.

Because of heavy traffic volume, drivers can expect delays in the project area.  Drivers should use alternate routes if possible until the work is completed.

Drivers are reminded that the speed limit through all traffic-related work zones within the City of Yakima is 20 miles-per-hour.

Access to homes and businesses in the project area will be maintained as best as possible and emergency vehicles will be allowed through the project area if necessary.

As always, the schedule for this type of project is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.

For more information about the project, contact Streets and Traffic Manager Joe Rosenlund at 576-6430.
