Signal Project to Impact Traffic at 40th and Lincoln

Traffic will be restricted at the intersection of 40th Avenue and Lincoln Avenue tomorrow, Wednesday, September 8th, for a project to replace a damaged traffic signal arm.

Contractors and City of Yakima crews will be on site working on the project Wednesday from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm. During the project work hours, the traffic signal will not be in operation and flaggers will be on site directing traffic.

Northbound traffic at the intersection will be reduced to one lane at times to accommodate a crane truck dismantling the damaged traffic signal arm and pole.

Because of heavy traffic volume, drivers can expect delays in the project area. Drivers should use alternate routes if possible until the work is completed.

Drivers are reminded that the speed limit through all traffic-related work zones within the City of Yakima is 20 miles-per-hour.

As always, the schedule for this type of project is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.

For more information about the project, contact Traffic Operations Acting Supervisor Dan Nickoloff at 576-6746.
