Stormwater Line Cleaning Project to Impact Traffic on Beech Street

A project to clean a stormwater line will result in traffic restrictions on a portion of Beech Street for most of the day on Thursday, August 3rd.

As a result of the project, eastbound traffic will not be allowed along the section of Beech Street between Fair Avenue and 13th Street from 6:00 am to about 2:00 pm on August 3rd.  Westbound traffic will not be allowed along Beech Street up to Fair Avenue.  Detour routes around the project area will be available and will be marked with appropriate signage.

Drivers are reminded that the speed limit through all traffic-related works zones within the City of Yakima is 20 miles-per-hour.

During the project, traffic delays in the area are likely to occur.  Drivers should use alternate routes until the project is completed.

Access to homes and businesses in the project area will be maintained as best as possible.

As always, the schedule for this type of a project is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.

For additional information about this project, contact Wastewater Collections Supervisor Bob Brown at 406-7103.
