Stormwater Project to Affect Traffic Along Portion of Powerhouse

A stormwater construction project will impact traffic on a section of Powerhouse Road during weekdays from Wednesday, February 12th to Wednesday, February 19th.

The section of Powerhouse between 24th Avenue and 26th Avenue will be closed on weekdays between February 12th and February 19th.  That section of Powerhouse will be closed from 11:30 am until 5:00 pm on February 12th and from 6:30 am to 5:00pm February 13th through February 19th (excluding February 15th and 16th).

The project involves installation of a liner in stormwater pipes that will prevent roots from creating blockages.  The general contractor for the project is Michels Corporation.

Drivers are reminded that the speed limit through all traffic-related work zones within the City of Yakima is 20 miles-per-hour.

During the project, traffic delays in the area are likely to occur. Drivers should use alternate routes until project completion.

Access to homes and businesses in the project area will be maintained as best as possible.

The schedule for this type of project is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.
