Stormwater Project to Impact Traffic on South 36th Avenue

Replacement of a stormwater pipe will result in the daytime closure of South 36th Avenue between Webster Avenue and Tieton Drive for up to two weeks.

The closure will be in effect starting tomorrow, Wednesday, during project work hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm each weekday.

A signed detour route will be provided.

Drivers should use alternate routes if possible until the work is completed.

The closure may cause interruptions in scheduled refuse collection. Contact the City of Yakima Refuse Division at 509-575-6005 for more information.

Drivers are reminded the speed limit through all traffic-related work zones within the City of Yakima is 20 miles-per-hour.

Access to homes and businesses in the project area will be maintained as best as possible.

As always, the schedule for this type of a project is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.

For additional information about this project, contact Wastewater and Stormwater Manager Mike Price at 509-249-6815 or Surface Water Engineer Randy Meloy at 509-576-6606.
