Street Repair Work to Impact Traffic at Tieton Drive and 72nd Avenue

A street repair project will result in lane closures in and around the intersection of Tieton Drive and 72nd Avenue on Thursday, October 24th. Crews will be replacing manhole covers and doing valve work in newly paved areas.

While the project is underway, only one lane of traffic in each direction will be allowed through the Tieton Drive and 72nd Avenue intersection.  Work on the project will take place from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm on October 24th.

Drivers can expect delays in the project area. Drivers should use alternate routes if possible until the work is completed.

Drivers are reminded that the speed limit through all traffic-related work zones within the City of Yakima is 20 miles-per-hour.

Access to businesses in the project area will be maintained as best as possible and emergency vehicles will be allowed through the project area.

The project may cause interruptions in scheduled refuse collection. Contact the City of Yakima Refuse Division at 575-6005 for more information.

As always, the schedule for this type of project is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.

For more information about the project, contact Streets and Traffic Operations Manager Joe Rosenlund at 509-576-6430.
