Street Repair Work to Impact Traffic on Portion of Summitview

A street repair project will result in lane closures along a section of Summitview Avenue on Thursday, October 3rd and Friday, October 4th.  Crews will be grinding out deteriorated asphalt and replacing it with new asphalt.

While the project is underway, the inside, eastbound and westbound lanes of Summitview between 40th Avenue and 45th Avenue will be closed.  The outside lanes of that portion of Summitview will remain open.  Work on the project will take place from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm on October 3rd and 4th.

Drivers can expect delays in the project area. Drivers should use alternate routes if possible until the work is completed.

Drivers are reminded that the speed limit through all traffic-related work zones within the City of Yakima is 20 miles-per-hour.

Access to businesses in the project area will be maintained as best as possible and emergency vehicles will be allowed through the project area.

The project may cause interruptions in scheduled refuse collection. Contact the City of Yakima Refuse Division at 575-6005 for more information.

As always, the schedule for this type of project is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.

For more information about the project, contact Streets and Traffic Operations Manager Joe Rosenlund at 509-576-6430.
