A 17-year-old male was hit by a Ford Explorer early this morning while he was crossing Nob Hill Boulevard in the vicinity of Rock Avenue. 

The 17-year-old was reportedly knocked unconscious after having been struck by the Explorer.  As a result of his injuries, including a possible skull fracture, the 17-year-old is being transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for treatment.

The Explorer was begin driven by a 23-year-old Yakima man and heading westbound on Nob Hill at the time of the accident.

Yakima police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident.
