Toys for Tots Drive Begins October 1

A Toys for Tots Drive begins Tuesday, October 1st at the City of Yakima’s Harman Center, 101 N. 65th Avenue.

It is the next in a series of quarterly “Help the Community Projects” organized by the Harman Center.

“We are asking for donations of new, unwrapped toys to benefit the Toys for Tots program,” said Recreation Program Supervisor Leslie Richards. “Donated toys will be accepted from October 1st through Friday, December 13th.”

Last year, the Harman Center collected 214 toys during its Toys for Tots Drive.

The Harman Center’s current “Help the Community Project” is a school supply drive that concludes on Monday, September 30th.

“The community’s response to this outreach has been terrific,” said Richards. This is the second consecutive year the Harman Center has hosted a school supply drive. Last year, there were enough school supplies donated to benefit five schools.
