Trolley Track Repair Will Impact Traffic on Portion of Yakima Avenue

Traffic on Yakima Avenue near the Yakima Avenue and 6th Avenue intersection will be impacted for most of the day on October 26th while City of Yakima Street Division crews make repairs to trolley tracks.

The project will begin at 7:30 am on Friday, October 26th and should be completed by about 3:00 pm that same day.  While the project is underway, both eastbound and westbound traffic on Yakima Avenue will be restricted to one lane.

Drivers are reminded that the speed limit through all traffic-related works zones within the City of Yakima is 20 miles-per-hour.

During the project, traffic delays in the area are likely to occur.  Drivers should use alternate routes until the project is completed.

Access to businesses in the project area will be maintained as best as possible.  Emergency vehicles will be allowed through the project area as necessary.

As always, the schedule for this type of a project is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.

For additional information about this project, contact Streets and Traffic Operations Manager Joe Rosenlund at 576-6430.
