A section of 56th Avenue will be reduced to one lane for three days this week due to a wastewater and stormwater project.
The project will close the northbound lane of 56th Avenue between Summitview Avenue and Tieton Avenue from Tuesday, April 21st, through Thursday, April 23rd. The closure will be in place during project work hours of 6:00 am to 3:30 pm all three days.
Drivers are reminded that the speed limit through all traffic-related work zones within the City of Yakima is 20 miles-per-hour.
During the project, traffic delays in the area are likely to occur. Drivers should use alternate routes until project completion.
Access to homes and businesses in the project area will be maintained as best as possible.
The schedule for this type of project is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.
Contact Wastewater Maintenance Supervisor Robert Brown at 406-7103 for more information about the project.
