Water Project to Close Section of Englewood Ave

Work on a 30-inch water transmission main will close a section of Englewood Avenue beginning Monday, February 28th, and continuing through early April.

Englewood Avenue will be closed to thru traffic between North 32nd Avenue and North 34th Avenue.  The closure will remain in place all hours of the weekdays and weekends for the duration of the project. Detours will be in place to route traffic around the project.

Local access to residents and businesses will be maintained. Emergency vehicles will be allowed through the project area when necessary.

The project includes installation of a new valve on an existing 30-inch concrete cylinder pipe water transmission main. TTC Construction, Inc. of Yakima will begin excavation on Monday, February 28th. Work is expected to continue through the first week of April 2022.

Yakima Transit Routes 3 and 4 will be adjusted to accommodate the closure.  Please see https://yakimatransit.org/ for up-to-date routes or contact Yakima Transit at 509-575-6175.

Although the project is not expected to cause interruptions in scheduled refuse collection, customers may contact the City of Yakima Refuse Division at 509-575-6005 with any questions or concerns.

As always, the schedule for this type of project is subject to change daily depending on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.

Drivers are reminded that the speed limit through all traffic-related work zones within the City of Yakima is 20 miles-per-hour.
