Water Project Will Disrupt Traffic on Walnut Near Davis High School

A water system project associated with improvements being made to Davis High School will impact traffic on West Walnut Avenue between 6th Avenue and 7th Avenue on Friday, June 14th and again from Monday, June 17th through Thursday, June 20th.

On those days, Walnut between 6th Avenue and 7th Avenue will be closed to all through traffic during daytime hours.  Flaggers will be on site to alert drivers and to help them navigate around the project area.

The project will involve City crews installing new water services for the Davis High School improvement project.

During the project, traffic delays in the area are likely to occur.  Drivers should use alternate routes if possible until the project is completed.

Access to homes and businesses in the areas will be maintained and emergency vehicles will be allowed through the project area when possible.

As always, schedules for these types of projects are subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.

For additional information regarding these projects, contact Water Distribution Supervisor James Dean at 576-6154.
