Water Work Will Disrupt Traffic May 6th to May 10th

Beginning on Monday May 6th, traffic on River Road between 6th Avenue and 16th Avenue will be disrupted while City of Yakima crews complete water system projects in the area.  Work is expected to be completed by Friday, May 10th.

The work being done on River   Road is focused on relocating water meters in preparation for street improvements that will be made later this year.

During the project, traffic delays in the area are likely to occur. There will be occasional lane closures, but River Road will remain open. Drivers should use alternate routes if possible until the project is completed.

Access to homes and businesses in the area will be maintained and emergency vehicles will be allowed through the project area.

As always, schedules for these types of projects are subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.

For additional information regarding these projects, contact Water Distribution Supervisor James Dean at 576-6154.
