Winter Weather Advisory Issued for Yakima Area

The National Weather Service (“NWS”) has issued a winter weather advisory for the Yakima area. It is in effect from 4:00 am today, Thursday, December 28th through 12:00 pm tomorrow, Friday, December 29th.

The advisory is due to a low pressure system that is expected to spread snow, sleet, freezing rain, and rain over the area through Friday.

The NWS anticipates snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches and ice accumulation of one-tenth to two-tenths of an inch.

The City of Yakima urges residents to use caution when driving during the weather advisory and to limit travel if possible.
