Y-PAC Airing Forums Related to Violence Concerns

Two community forums held last week about violence are airing on the Yakima Public Affairs Channel (Y-PAC), Charter Cable Channel 194.

One is Gov. Jay Inslee’s listening tour stop in Yakima on Thursday, October 5th, at the Fourth Street Theatre. It focused on gang violence and gun-related crimes.

“I don’t want the Yakima area to be defined just by this challenge. There are so many positive things going on in this community today,” Inslee said. “This is a place with a great future and a great present that’s willing to step up to the plate and face this significant challenge.”

Inslee’s listening tour airs at 5:30 pm tonight on Channel 194 and can be viewed on-line at http://bit.ly/2yWWrk9

The second event airing on Y-PAC is the Stop the Violence Forum held on Saturday, October 7th, at St. Joseph Catholic Parish. The featured speaker was Fr. Gregory J. Boyle, SJ., author of a New York Times best-selling book on “Boundless Compassion.”

The forum will air at 7:00 pm tonight on Charter Cable Channel 194 and, like Inslee’s visit, can be viewed anytime on-line by clicking http://bit.ly/2yDj54U
