The Yakima City Council held a regular meeting yesterday, Tuesday, September 3rd.
Action taken by the Council yesterday included:
- Directing City staff to draft a modified cruising control ordinance that will allow open cruising on the 2nd and 3rd Saturdays from June to September each year. A modified ordinance will be presented for Council consideration at an upcoming meeting.
- Authorizing a lease agreement with Food Facility Engineering, Inc. for property at Yakima Air Terminal-McAllister Field.
- Holding five public hearings and adopting the Yakima Planning Commission’s recommendations on Comprehensive Plan Amendment and Rezone requests.

The City Council’s next regular meeting will take place on Tuesday, September 17th and begin at 5:30 pm in the Council Chambers at Yakima City Hall, 129 N. 2nd Street. The meeting will air live on Y-PAC and also be streamed live on the City of Yakima website at https://www.yakimawa.gov/council/live-stream/
