Yakima City Council September 5th Business Meeting Review

The Yakima City Council met for a regular business meeting yesterday, Tuesday, September 5th.

Action by the Council on September 5th included:

  • Declining to send a draft letter to President Donald Trump in support of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program and directing staff to draft a letter in support of comprehensive immigration reform to members of Congress and others.
  • Approving a letter to the Department of Health supporting a YPAL state grant funding application.
  • Authorizing an interlocal agreement with the Yakima School District to continue the school resource officer program.
  • Authorizing a state grant agreement to evaluate real estate options for a Yakima Business Incubator and Public Market.
  • Receiving the Yakima Fire Department Annual Report.
