Yakima Parks and Recreation Issues Winter/Spring 2023 Guide

April Pools Day (a free family swim activity), Egg Hunt/Candy Dash and free taekwondo classes at Washington Fruit Community Center are just a few of the seasonal offerings available in the 2023 Winter/Spring Program Guide issued recently by Yakima Parks and Recreation.

The 16-page guide – which also includes information on winter co-rec volleyball, Fisher Park Golf, youth soccer, the Harman Center and much more – is available at Yakima Parks and Recreation offices (2301 Fruitvale Boulevard) and online at 2023-YPR-Winter-ProGuide.pdf (yakimaparks.com)

One of the guide’s highlights is the 32nd Annual Snowball Tournament set for January 28th and 29th. The popular softball tournament’s registration deadline is January 20th.

“All games are played with a 16-inch softball that, weather conditions permitting, rapidly turns into an icy mushball,” said Parks and Recreation Manager Ken Wilkinson. “We supply smudge pots and, with a little luck, there will hopefully be lots of snow!”
