Yakima Woman Injured When Vehicle Crashes into Apartment

At about 10:20 pm on Saturday, August 24th, Yakima police responded to a report of a vehicle crashing into an apartment in the 200 block of North 10th Street.

When officers arrived, they found a vehicle had crashed into an apartment, and the vehicle was almost completely in the apartment.

Police found the resident of the apartment, a 55-year-old woman, trapped below the vehicle.  Yakima Fire Department personnel arrived and spent nearly 25 minutes working to remove the woman from beneath the vehicle.  Ultimately, they were successful.

The woman was transported to a local hospital where she was treated for her injuries.  She was eventually transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for further treatment of her injuries. 

Yakima police located and arrested the suspected driver of the vehicle that crashed into the apartment, 18-year-old Alejandro Rosario-Brambila.  He has been booked into the Yakima County Jail on a charge of vehicular assault.  Police suspect intoxicants were an element in the crash.

Yakima police continue to investigate the incident.
