Lighted Parade Ushers in Yakima’s Holiday Season

The holiday season in Yakima again kicks off this year with the 23rd annual Holiday Lighted Parade at 6:00 pm on Sunday, December 3rd. The procession begins at 6th Avenue and continues down Yakima Avenue to 3rd Street, ending on 3rd Street in front of the Capitol Theatre.

No on-street parking will be allowed along the parade route from 4:00 pm (4:15 pm on S. 3rd St.) on Sunday until the completion of the parade. The parade route will also be closed to motorized traffic.

Immediately after the parade, a lighting ceremony will be held for the community tree at Millennium Plaza. The holiday decorations at Millennium Plaza are all supplied and maintained by the Downtown Association of Yakima (DAY) and the City of Yakima.

Parade organizers anticipate about 4,000 spectators and 50 participants. The parade is organized by the Yakima Sunfair Parade Association. Additional information is available at Yakima Parades Portal
