The Yakima Health District was informed on the evening of March 11, 2020 that test results from the Washington State Department of Health Public Health Lab determined that there are two confirmed cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Yakima County. These two patients are currently isolated.
Water Service Installation to Restrict Traffic on Mead Avenue

Water service work will result in traffic restrictions on Mead Avenue between Voelker Avenue and 1st Street from tomorrow, Thursday, March 12th,through Friday March, 20th. Work on the project will begin at 7:00 am and last until 3:30 pm each weekday. Traffic will be limited to one lane in both directions in the project area.
Crack Sealing Project to Impact Traffic on Nob Hill
A project involving “crack sealing” will impact traffic along a portion of Nob Hill Boulevard on Wednesday, March 11th. City of Yakima crews will be filling cracks along the section of Nob Hill between 18th Street and 8th Street on March 11th. Work on the project will take place from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.
Business Licensing Process Changing in April
A change is in the works for business license applications and renewals. Business license applications and renewals for local municipalities will be through the Washington State Department of Revenue (DOR) beginning April 2nd. Entries are being accepted for the third annual St. Patrick’s Day Iron Chef competition at the City of Yakima’s Harman Center.
